The real estate service provider HRS Real Estate has submitted the planning application for a further development on the "Saurerwerk Zwei" site in Arbon (TG). A further residential development with the project name "Henry" is to be built along the new alignment of the cantonal road, directly adjacent to the new hotel of the B Smart chain, at a cost of around CHF 30 million. Three different building types are planned, which will form a joint plot development. The project is the result of an architectural competition won by Michael Meier and Marius Hug Architekten AG in Zurich. The building permit has been open for a few days.

A seven-storey flat-roofed building with 40 rental apartments is being built along the cantonal road and the railroad line. Directly behind it, a building of the same height with 17 owner-occupied apartments is planned. The development also includes five multi-storey "townhouses". The townhouses have their own terraces and planting areas and are adjacent to a green roof area. There are 86 parking spaces available for the various uses, 74 of which are underground. The perimeter of the "Henry" development measures 3,500 square meters with a built-up area of around 2,500 square meters.

Remediation of contaminated sites completed

The development of the site has already taken many years and involved several months of remediation work. After this was completed in June, the B Smart chain hotel opened. Depending on the progress of the planning application, excavation of the construction pit and piling will begin this year, HRS announced. The townhouses as well as the condominiums and rental apartments are expected to be occupied by the end of 2025. (aw)
