Chavannes-près-Renens: Room Estate's new coliving building opens in October
The Room Estate's first new coliving building is being built on the outskirts of Lausanne and will comprise 35 studios and communal areas.

In Chavannes-près-Renens, on the outskirts of Lausanne, a coliving project by Room Estate AG will open its doors at the beginning of October. The property - the "first dedicated coliving project in Switzerland" according to Room Estate - comprises 35 furnished studios with private bathrooms and communal areas, including a kitchen and dining area, co-working space and a cinema. The offer is aimed at young professionals. "As far as we know, this project is the first coliving project in Switzerland to be built for residential purposes for the target group of young professionals," says the operator on request. "We are different from student residences or short-term rental offers."
Room Estate has previously rented apartments and then rented them out per room and with additional services. The new project, called Lily, is being developed together with real estate developer Orllati and is due to open on October 1. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the EPFL and UNIL universities. The coliving provider Room Estate AG was founded by Sven Schürch and John Trajkov. (aw)
