Germany: Artemis Group plans site development in Freiburg

The Artemis Group wants to realize a major project on a site close to the city centre in Freiburg im Breisgau. As announced by the city in southern Baden, the group has now submitted plans for the project. Artemis had already acquired the eastern part of the brewery site from the Ganter company in 2021.

The area in the Oberau district is to become a lively and mixed quarter that will be called "3sam Quartier", named after the small river Dreisam that flows past the site. Commercial space and around 350 apartments will be built, 60 of which will be socially subsidized.

According to the City of Freiburg, the investor will bear the costs of creating the building rights, cover the additional demand for daycare and kindergarten places and implement the Freiburg energy standard.

The municipal council is to decide on the project on July 25, after which a competition is planned. (ah)
