The pension fund of the Berner Kantonalbank (BEKB) has pulled out of the "Viererfeld" project in Bern. The city has confirmed a corresponding report in the "Berner Zeitung". According to the report, the investor has let the option for a building site lapse. In an interview, Mayor Alec von Graffenried said that he was not aware of the reasons for the withdrawal. However, he does not believe that the decision will delay the project. As has also been made public, there have also been personnel departures in the project development team for the large-scale project.

The Pernsionkasse of BEKB was one of the first private investors to be involved in the project (IB reported). The new urban quarter will one day comprise over 1,000 apartments and be the center of life for 3,000 people. (aw)
