Implenia is selling a centrally located property in the "Stadtraum Unterwetzikon" master plan development area to Siska Immobilien AG. Implenia's Real Estate Development division has been commissioned to develop the project over the next few years. Implenia and Siska Immobilien have already worked together on the planning and realization of "Haus Adeline Favre", a ZHAW training building specializing in healthcare in Winterthur (IB reported).

Siska Immobilien is planning to replace the existing property with a building with public-oriented uses on the first floors and apartments above. The next step will be to adopt the urban development concept this fall. Based on this, a private partial design plan will be drawn up as the basis for the project planning for the center development on two plots. Completion of the residential and commercial building at the western gateway to the city center is scheduled for 2029.

The Wetzikon district of Unterwetzikon has good S-Bahn connections to Zurich and Rapperswil and is set to become an attractive location for housing, utilities, commerce and services. "The planned development will further enhance the attractiveness of the area around Wetzikon station and become part of a new, diverse urban district with a high quality of life," Implenia writes in a press release.
