Zurich: New hotel operator at the "Vulcano"
Hotel operator Chocolate on the Pillow is expanding into Switzerland and will be running a hotel in Zurich's "Vulcano" from November.
The French hotel chain Accor will soon be opening a Mercure-branded hotel in the "Vulcano" property in Zurich-Alstetten. The operator will be the German Chocolate on the Pillow Group. It will be their first hotel in Switzerland. "We are venturing into the Alpine country by signing and taking over the operation of the new Mercure Zurich City," writes CEO Erik Florvaag. His company is being supported by Red KG Real Estate Development.
The Hotel im Vulcano has 319 guest rooms as well as meeting and event space. It was previously managed under the name "Aja Zürich". The takeover will take place on November 1. (aw)
