Vernier: Deutsche Hospitality opens hotel in the Quartier de l'Étang
The new Intercity Hotel is Deutsche Hospitality's first hotel in French-speaking Switzerland. More are to follow.
An Intercity-branded hotel has opened in the Quartier de l'Étang in Vernier near Geneva. As announced by Deutsche Hospitality, the operator and lessee, the hotel comprises 270 rooms, a conference area with five meeting rooms, a restaurant and a bar. There is also a wellness and fitness area with sauna and steam bath. The property is owned by PG Promotors.
As Josef Dolp, Chief Operating Officer and Guest Experience Officer at Deutsche Hospitality, says, the Intercity Hotel Geneva is the company's first hotel in French-speaking Switzerland, with more to follow in the near future. "Switzerland is an important market and Geneva is a top location for us to continue the growth of the Intercity Hotel brand."
With the Quartier de l'Étang, a former industrial site on the outskirts of Geneva covering a total of eleven hectares was developed in line with sustainable principles. The quarter comprises 870 apartments, office and commercial space, several hotels, a student residence, a shopping center, restaurants and areas for leisure activities. (ah)
