Burgdorf: Start of construction for Q34 residential project
On the site of the former Burgdorf-Steinhof railroad station, a residential quarter including retail, office and practice space is being created.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the Q34 project has taken place in Burgdorf-Steinhof. By the end of 2025, a development with apartments, retail space and office and practice premises will be built on the 8,000 m² site of the former railroad station.
The construction project was prompted by the relocation of Steinhof station by 250 meters in the direction of Oberburg. The three landowners BLS Immobilien, Bonainvest and RN Selvam have joined forces to develop the brownfield site.
The Q34 project consists of four buildings housing a total of 99 apartments (1.5 to 5.5 rooms). The development also includes 300 square meters of retail space as well as office and practice premises. According to BLS, the investment volume amounts to CHF 50 million. (ah)
