Dielsdorf: Green builds two more data centers
Green is starting the construction of two additional data centers on the Zurich metro campus earlier than planned. The company cites strong demand as the reason for the early start of construction.

Data center provider Green has begun construction of two additional data centers on the Metro Campus Zurich in Dielsdorf. The two new data centers will offer space for around 4,000 server racks on an area of 11,600 m².
The campus in Dielsdorf covers an area of 46,000 m² and consists of data centers and a business park with an office building. The first data center was completed in December 2022 and the office building is currently under construction. It should be ready for occupation next summer. The third expansion phase with the realization of data centers N and O has now been tackled earlier than planned, according to Green. The reason for this is the sharp rise in demand for secure and high-performance data centers: for cost and efficiency reasons, more and more companies are moving their systems to data centers and the cloud.
According to Green, the two new buildings will be built with waste heat extraction so that the waste heat can be used for CO2-neutral heating in the surrounding communities. To this end, Green is cooperating with Energie 360°, which is planning and implementing several district heating network projects in the region. (ah)
