Dietikon: New district planned in Niderfeld
A new district is to be built on the last large settlement reserve in Dietikon. The planning instruments are now available to the public.
The Niderfeld in Dietikon is considered one of the last large and contiguous development areas in the Limmat Valley. The town of Dietikon wants to develop it into a new district that offers living space for 3,700 people and jobs for up to 2,700 employees.
According to a statement from the city of Dietikon, a large park with the revitalized Teischlibach will form the center of the district. The development will be grouped around this park: to the north and west of the park, a residential area with an open development structure graded towards the park will be created. To the south of the park will be a mixed-use area with commercial and services on the first floor and apartments on the upper floors, according to the press release.
A school, sports facilities and a triple gymnasium are being built in the area to the east of the park. The workplace area is located on the western edge of the Niderfeld. According to the city's plans, industry will be located in the north-western part of this area, whereby there will be smooth transitions into the mixed and residential areas with service providers and mantle uses. The south-western workplace area will be home to traditional businesses and offices.
The public design plan and a design concept for the Niderfeld will be open to the public from November 9, 2023 to January 19, 2024. (ah)
