Zurich: Limehome opens first Swiss location
The operator of serviced apartments will open its first apartment building in Zurich next year. Further locations in Switzerland are to follow.
Limehome, a provider of serviced apartments based in Munich, is expanding into new markets. The hospitality company has announced that it has secured a project in Zurich's old town together with a group of Swiss investors. Limehome will completely renovate an existing building in Kreis 1 and convert it into an apartment building. The suites should be available to book from mid-2024.
As a business location, Zurich is particularly attractive for business guests, says Limehome CEO Josef Vollmayr about the move. However, the location in the city on the Limmat will not be the only one: As the company is also profitable in smaller cities, Limehome wants to create new offers in as many places as possible, says Ricky Bichel, Head of International Expansion. To this end, "initial promising talks" are already being held with potential partners in Switzerland.
At the same time as the move into Switzerland, Limehome has also expanded into Italy and Greece. The company is now represented in ten European markets and operates a total of 5,000 apartments. A special feature of the concept is that all processes - from booking to check-out - are digital. This means that fully equipped suites can be offered for the price of a standard hotel room, the company explains. (ah)
