Egnach: Ground-breaking ceremony for project on cider plant site
The Abendroth Foundation and the St. Gallen project developer Mettler2Invest are realizing a new quarter on a former cider factory site with the "Perron Vert" project.
The project in Egnach (TG) comprises six residential buildings and a care center with apartments for the elderly. The historic cidery building on the site will remain and be converted into apartments and commercial space. The old Sternen inn and a commercial building will also be retained.
A new village square for Egnach is also being created at the center of the development, surrounded by 161 new rental and owner-occupied apartments, 17 retirement apartments, 52 care rooms as well as catering, office and commercial space. The concept includes rooms and areas for communal use, including a common room, a guest room and several outdoor areas. A housing association is founded with the task of managing these rooms and areas independently.
Completion of the first stage is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026. The buildings in the second stage are expected to be ready for occupancy in the first quarter of 2027. Letting is expected to start in the fall of 2025, as IB recently reported here about the project. (aw)
