Basel: All units in the SFP project "Maison Johann" sold
All apartments and the commercial space in the "Maison Johann" residential and commercial building have found an owner ahead of the planned completion in April.
The SF Urban Properties real estate fund is building the "Maison Johann" residential and commercial building with 15 apartments and a commercial space on the first floor in Basel's St. Johann district. As the SFP Group has now announced, all units have been sold before completion in April 2024. A restaurant concept will be implemented in the commercial space, it says.
The apartment building, a corner building designed by Luca Selva Architekten with a white exposed concrete façade, is being built on Elsässerstrasse, directly on St. Johanns-Platz - with an unobstructed view of the Rhine and St. Johann Park. The project was controversial in Basel, partly because a building from the Wilhelminian era, in which a popular pizzeria in the neighborhood was rented, had to make way for the new building. There was also criticism that the fund was building high-quality apartments while there was a shortage of affordable housing in the city. (ah)
