Herisau: Redesign of the station area continues
The station area in Herisau is currently being redesigned. This will also include a new development in the Bahnhofstrasse Nord area.
The municipality of Herisau (AR) is giving the area around the railroad station a facelift: on the one hand, the station is being completely renovated as a hub for public transport, and on the other, new buildings are also planned. The municipality is now focusing on the transition from the station area and Mühlestrasse to the northern part of Bahnhofstrasse.
From a town planning perspective, the area is an important interface towards the village center, writes the municipality of Herisau. The landowners, which also include Appenzeller Bahnen AG, have a "vital interest in a development that is both appropriate for the location and architecturally convincing".
In order to clarify the potential and the framework conditions for the overall situation and for the individual plots, a study has been commissioned. The municipality intends to provide information on the results at the beginning of February.
