Sedrun: Green light for new resort from Andermatt Swiss Alps
A new part of the village is being built in Dieni/Sedrun with the Resort Dieni. The developer is a subsidiary of Andermatt Swiss Alps AG.
Green light for a new Andermatt Swiss Alps AG (ASA) project: the subsidiary Resort Dieni Development AG has received planning permission from the municipality of Tujetsch for the construction of the Dieni resort, ASA has announced. In Dieni/Sedrun, a new village section with 13 buildings with direct access to public transport and the slopes of the Andermatt-Sedrun ski arena is to be built.
"With the building permit now granted for our pioneering project, we can realize a major construction project on the Grisons side of the Andermatt-Sedrun destination for the first time," says Raphael Krucker, CEO of ASA.
The new part of the village is being built on the site of the current parking lot opposite the Dieni valley station of the Andermatt-Sedrun ski arena. The 13 buildings will comprise 410 hotel rooms and 119 residential units, which will be for sale and managed for tourism purposes. Construction is scheduled to start in 2026 and be completed in 2029.
According to ASA, there were three objections to the building permit procedure, two of which were withdrawn. The main concerns of the Helvetia Nostra Foundation were taken into account in the building permit: The building decision explicitly ensures that the residential units for sale will be used as tourist apartments and that the hotel area will be built earlier or at the same time as the apartments.
