At Landsgemeindeplatz in Oberdorf (NW), the Zeno project (formerly Dorflaube) is creating a new center for apartments and commerce. In January 2024, the municipality of Oberdorf, the pension fund of the canton of Nidwalden and Halter AG as the overall contractor signed the contracts for the start of construction in summer 2024.

The winning project of the architectural competition for the development next to the historically significant Landsgemeindeplatz was presented back in August 2021. The design by Mirlo Urbano Architekten from Zurich will now be realized from summer 2024 under the new name "Zeno". The building permit came into legal force shortly before Christmas 2023. Halter was also commissioned by the investor with the realization and initial letting of the project. "We are convinced that this project will have a positive impact on the development of Oberdorf," says Mayor Judith Odermatt-Fallegger. "It will not only improve the townscape, but also create new living space and jobs."

Anchor tenant Aldi

The new building will comprise a total of 49 apartments with 2 to 4.5 rooms on the upper and attic floors. The first floor offers space for commercial premises and will be used in particular by the anchor tenant Aldi Suisse. Apart from a small commercial space, the first floor is already let. The two basement floors will include parking spaces, bicycle storage rooms, cellar compartments and technical rooms.

Completion in just over two years

The ground-breaking ceremony for the construction project is planned for July 2024, with the new building due to be completed by spring 2026. Marketing of the apartments will start in spring 2025. (aw)
