Suurstoffi receives platinum DGNB certificate
The Zug Estates development is the first site in Switzerland to be awarded this sustainability label.
The Swiss Sustainable Building Council (SGNI) has awarded Zug Estates' Suurstoffi site the DGNB Platinum certificate for sustainable neighborhoods in planning and construction, making it the first site in Switzerland to receive this award. The real estate company sees this as confirmation that the Suurstoffi site is a "prime example of sustainable site development". It meets the requirements of the DGNB certification system, including criteria such as energy efficiency, CO2 emissions, life cycle assessment, gray energy, flexibility of use and recyclability of the materials used.
The DGNB certificate is an internationally recognized seal of quality and is one of the three most important rating systems in the world alongside BREEAM (UK) and LEED (USA). The certification means that almost half of Zug Estates' portfolio now has a sustainability certificate, the company reports. (ah)
