Bülach: Start of construction for "Solistrasse 68"
Uze AG is building 48 apartments on a former industrial site with interiors that can be used as flexibly as possible.

The symbolic ground-breaking ceremony was held recently to mark the start of the "Solistrasse 68" construction project. The two new buildings comprise 48 apartments with 1.5 to 5.5 rooms. They are designed for singles, couples, families and senior citizens. First occupancy has been announced for fall 2026. The site is an industrial estate with old warehouse buildings that are gradually being replaced by three-storey residential buildings. The developer is Uze AG.
"The footprint of the two buildings at Solistrasse 68, each measuring around 22 by 52 meters, references the previously predominant commercial hall typology," says architect Jens Studer from Schneider Studer Primas GmbH in Zurich. "On an urban planning level, a new connection is created between Steinackerstrasse and Solistrasse via the shared open space to the north of the two buildings, resulting in a denser network of paths and a new meeting point."
Circular economy and emission-free energy
The dismantling of the commercial building at Solistrasse 68 has already begun. The structure is to be reused by the Kunstgiesserei St. Gallen foundry. Heat will be generated using geothermal probes and brine-to-water heat pumps in accordance with the Minergie standard. A geocooling system will provide natural cooling in summer and PV systems are planned for the roofs. The interior of the apartments can be modified and adapted to individual requirements using floor-to-ceiling folding and sliding doors. Between the buildings, a central platform on the 1st and 3rd floors leads to arcades. (aw)
