The "Coté Parc" real estate project on the site of the retirement home in Petit-Saconnex (GE) has just been opened. The landowner is the retirement home MRPS, while the project was implemented by La Foncière as investor and financing partner and Losinger Marazzi as real estate developer and general contractor. As part of the project initiated by MRPS in 2016, the park around the retirement home was opened up for a cross-generational quarter in a public-private partnership and the existing buildings of the retirement home were renovated.

Five residential buildings and a Marriott hotel

The five buildings in the development, one of which has been extended, offer 216 new apartments with affordable rents. The new quarter also includes an aparthotel with 99 studios. The "Residence Inn by Marriott" is managed by the SV Group. A large daycare center and a new restaurant are also part of the development. The MRPS retirement home comprises a nursing home with 220 rooms and a private residential complex for independent senior citizens with 132 apartments, ranging from studios to three-room apartments.

Car-free area

The development is embedded in a five-hectare park. Energy is supplied by geothermal heat pumps and PV modules. The buildings comply with the HPE (high energy efficiency) or Minergie-P standards. The "Minergie-Areal" label is being sought for the entire development. The entire site is car-free and various areas are only accessible to pedestrians.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Thierry Apothéloz, member of the Geneva cantonal government, as well as representatives of various authorities from the city of Geneva and the project partners. (aw)
