Riedholz: UBS realizes "Kocherei" on Attisholz site

The UBS pension fund, which acquired the 73,000 m² core site in 2022, will now also realize the "Kocherei" building as an investor. This was announced by the developer Halter AG.

The land use plan for the Attisholz site in Riedholz (SO), one of the largest brownfield sites in Switzerland, has been legally binding since January 2022. Over the next 25 years, the site is to be developed into a district with areas for living, working, education, research and recreation.

A design plan is currently being drawn up for the first stage, which includes public open spaces and the "Kocherei" and "Lagerhaus" buildings. The winning project for the conversion and further development by Burckhardt Architektur from Basel, which emerged from a study commission, provides for around 150 rental apartments and 4,000 m² of commercial space. The winning project was presented in 2022. In the same year, the UBS pension fund acquired the 73,000 sqm core site from Halter AG, which simultaneously acquired a building right on the property and remained responsible for the development of the site.

As Halter has now announced, both parties signed a contract for the realization of the "Kocherei" at the end of June this year. The UBS pension fund will be the investor and owner, while Halter AG will assume responsibility for the planning and execution of the project as the overall provider.

The design plan for the first stage will soon enter the public consultation and approval process. The projects are scheduled for completion between 2025 and 2028. (aw)
