The first 190 apartments in the major "Quartier Horizons" project in Chavannes-près-Renens will be ready for occupation in August. This was announced by Credit Suisse Investment Foundation Real Estate Switzerland, for which three of the four building plots are being developed. According to a UBS publication, the apartments in the first complex are already almost fully let. The residential units in the second building have been on the market since May 2024. "It currently looks very much as if the ambitious target of around 1,500 residents in the Horizons quarter will be achieved by the time it is completed in summer 2025," it says.

A total of eight new buildings with 900 residential units are being built. Well over two thirds of the space is earmarked for apartments. Despite the proximity to Lausanne's university district, which would suggest an increase in smaller units, apartments with up to 6.5 rooms will also be created. In addition to the apartments, there will be office and retail space on the first floor of the new buildings.

The planned investment volume in the Horizons quarter amounts to CHF 474 million. Credit Suisse Asset Management puts the gross yield at 3.97%. Credit Suisse AM started the construction planning for the project in 2019. One of the building plots will be built over by the original landowners (IB reported). (aw)
