An ambitious project in the "Zwhatt" district in Regensdorf (ZH) is making progress: work on the shell of the H1 residential tower, the tallest timber construction in Switzerland, has been completed. It is a 24-storey, 75-metre-high timber hybrid building with 156 apartments and commercial space.

Erne built the shell. The teams from Erne Bauunternehmung, which is responsible for the solid construction, worked together with the teams from Erne Holzbau, which realized the timber hybrid construction from the 4th floor upwards. The entrance area of the high-rise, which is almost 12 m high, is made of red-colored exposed concrete. Erne is also building the second high-rise on the site. It is being built in solid construction.

Last year, the project received the Holcim Award for sustainable construction at the Architecture Biennale in Venice. The designs were created by Boltshauser Architekten and the client is Pensimo. (aw)
