Discount supermarket chain Denner has begun construction of a new distribution center in Aclens (VD). "By laying the foundation stone today, we are adapting our logistics structures to our growth ambitions and consolidating our position as a leading discounter," said interim CEO Adrian Bodmer at the ground-breaking ceremony on September 12.

With two fresh produce and three hard goods distribution centers, Denner is increasingly reaching the limits of its capacity. The new center in the industrial zone of La Plaine is designed for hard goods and equipped with an automated logistics system.

The new site with around 130 employees is scheduled to open in 2027 and will cover an area of 35,000 square meters. The high-bay warehouse offers space for 14,000 pallets and has 42 truck ramps. It will be built to the Minergie standard and will have a photovoltaic system on the roof and facades. (aw)
