Aarau: Foundation stone laid for Mobimo project
A total of 126 apartments are being built in a new construction and extension project on the "Torfeld Süd" site. The planning application has already been submitted for the next Mobimo project on the site.
As part of the "Torfeld Süd" development area in Aarau, the next expansion phase of the Aeschbachquartier is being realized on the southern part of the Rockwell site. Mobimo recently laid the foundation stone for the "Hof- und Hallenhaus" in the presence of representatives from the city of Aarau and the other project partners.
Mobimo is building a total of 126 rental apartments with 1.5 to 5.5 rooms according to plans by Baumberger Stegmeier Architekten. The courtyard building will be a new timber construction and will be characterized by its ecological design. The hall building, on the other hand, scores particularly well in terms of gray energy, as as much of the existing façade of Hall 5 will be retained as possible. It serves as the first floor for the extension of the historic building.
The courtyard and hall building is currently scheduled for completion in fall 2026. On the northern part of the Rockwell site (north building), a conversion and extension will be realized in a separate project. The planning application has been submitted and is still pending, according to Mobimo. (aw)
