Legacy Investments AG's luxury project is being built in the Lötschental, in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site near Wiler (VS). Over the next five years, around CHF 250 million will be invested in the expansion of the accommodation offering "in order to offer nature lovers an overnight stay away from mass tourism", according to Legacy Investments, which points out that the shift towards high-altitude destinations has already been reflected in an increase in gondola passengers in the region of 40 % in the past year. Once completed, the Tourmaline building will offer 21 luxury apartments, ranging from studios to penthouses, as well as a clubhouse with spa, gym, restaurant, bar, kids club and a terrace open all year round. The Vesta Luxury Chalets are 27 chalets (160 to 220 square meters) with panoramic views, ski-in/ski-out access, private gym, sauna, wine cellar and outdoor hot tubs. The resort will meet high sustainability criteria during construction and operation. A new parking garage and additional retail space are also planned in Wiler. The project is being realized by the timber construction specialist Rubner Group from South Tyrol. (bw)
