The town council of Romanshorn (TG) has granted planning permission for the construction of five new residential buildings, two residential and commercial buildings and the conversion and change of use of an existing building on a site near Lake Constance and rejected the objection raised against it.

The developer wants to create a total of 148 apartments with 1.5 to 6.5 rooms. These are now to be built in accordance with the legally binding design plan for the Hydrel site. The second stage of demolition work is currently underway. This work is expected to be completed by the end of March 2025. Building construction work is scheduled to begin in the 4th quarter of 2025. Occupation of the first stage is scheduled for the end of 2027 at the earliest.

"For the town of Romanshorn, the development is an important piece in the mosaic for qualitative growth and shows that the town is very attractive to investors," it said in a press release. However, the building permit is not yet legally binding due to the current appeal period.

According to one previous report The total investment in this project is CHF 86 million and the client is a company from Zug. (aw)
