Implenia realizes SNF project in Bern
The construction group has landed the contract to build a new building for the Swiss National Science Foundation in Bern's Wankdorf City and several projects in Germany.
Implenia says it has won the building construction contract to build the new Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) office in Bern. In Bern's Wankdorf City district, Implenia is the total contractor for an office building that will be "one of the most sustainable and innovative" in Switzerland. The most important Swiss institution for the promotion of scientific research is aiming for independent certification of the new building in accordance with the SNBS standard and the platinum seal of approval. Domestic timber and recycled concrete will be used in the construction, which is scheduled to begin in January 2025. Around 350 SNSF employees are expected to move into the new premises in 2027. On the fourth of the four upper floors, a flexibly expandable rental area of around 1,730 square meters and space for 90 to a maximum of 160 workstations is planned.
Numerous orders in Germany
Implenia has also announced that it has landed several contracts in Germany, including for the construction of the new research building for cutting-edge medical research in Mainz, which is being built together with ARGE partners Gemünden and Apleona. Once completed, the building will cover 10,000 square meters. The total contract value is over EUR 100 million, with Implenia's share amounting to just under EUR 40 million. Implenia is also building a large, sustainable housing estate in Leipzig with 202 apartments as part of a consortium, 101 apartments in Munich and a further stage of an ongoing residential quarter project in Heilbronn (Baden-Württemberg). The Group has also been commissioned with the pre-construction phase of a major public construction project in Siegburg (North Rhine-Westphalia). The total volume of all contracts for Implenia amounts to over CHF 160 million. (aw)
