Zug Estates has broken ground on the new S43/45 construction project on the Suurstoffi site in Rotkreuz (Canton of Zug). A property for the tenant Xund, the Central Switzerland Health Education Center, is being built on the last construction site of the major project. The center signed a long-term lease for the property in September.

Zug Estates has been developing the site, on which several uses are already linked, since 2010. The new building now under construction will complete the development. By mid-2027, around 14,400 m² of office and training space and 1,100 m² of living space for student accommodation will be created.

Reduced basement for a better eco-balance

The new development project will add a new geothermal probe field to the existing energy system, which according to Zug Estates is virtually emission-free. "Thanks to a reduced-volume basement and the optimization of facades, building services and statics, the building will have a measurably lower proportion of grey energy than comparable properties," says Zug Estates, describing the plus points of the property from a sustainability perspective. Efficient ventilation technology, solar panels on the roof and façade and the use of rainwater are also intended to ensure a positive ecological balance. (aw)
