Dübendorf: Space consortium with Airbus comes to the airfield site
A space company with top-class joint venture partners is announced as the first major industrial partner of the emerging innovation park in Dübendorf.
Starlab Space - a joint venture between Airbus, Voyager Space, Mitsubishi Corporation and MDA Space - has been confirmed as the first major industrial partner for the Zurich Innovation Park in Dübendorf. A memorandum of understanding to this effect was signed this week in Zurich between the space company and the Zurich Innovation Park Foundation. The new location attracts the international joint venture with access to an airfield, large areas for the necessary infrastructure and research partners such as the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich.
HRS is the site developer and total contractor of the IPZ, co-investor in the real estate vehicle IPZ Property AG and the operating company (IPZ Operation AG) and is jointly responsible for the marketing and operation of the site, which is being built on the airfield site in Dübendorf.
In response to an inquiry, the Innovation Center announced that no details have yet been finalized regarding the space that Starlab will use on the site. The details will be worked out in the coming months. (aw)
