Bern: Next step for large city quarter

The city of Bern has launched the public launch of the Weyermannshaus West development plan. A new, mixed-use urban quarter with a high proportion of housing is to be built on the site in stages. The current commercial site is considered by the city to be one of the key areas in the Ausserholligen development focus. The potential is estimated at around 1,000 apartments, and there is also space for mixed uses such as commerce, small businesses, stores, offices, restaurants and cultural facilities.
