Flawil: Start of construction for residential quarter
Developer HRS has started initial work on a conversion project in Flawil (SG).

The construction company HRS has started initial construction work on the Flawa site in Flawil (SG). A residential quarter with owner-occupied and rental apartments as well as terraced single-family homes is to be built by August 2027. The centrally located 7,000 square meter site in Flawil was recently used as an industrial area. A project by Pfister Klingenfuss Architekten emerged as the winner of an architectural competition involving five teams in 2022. The industrial heritage is to remain visible through the conversion of part of the existing buildings into 22 loft-style apartments. The building intended for condominiums will comprise 14 residential units. A total of 35 rental apartments will be created in two buildings. The four terraced houses will be built in timber. Two commercial premises are also planned.
In 2017, the then partial zoning plan was suspended. The demolition permit has since become legally binding and the permits for the partial zoning plan and the special use plan as well as the building permit have been issued.
HRS is the site developer and will also be responsible for marketing the condominiums on behalf of the industrial company Flawa. (aw)
