Muttenz: start of construction for district with 385 apartments

Total contractor HRS and client Swisscanto AST have broken ground on a major project in the canton of Basel-Landschaft.

The official ground-breaking ceremony for the Am Schänzli residential and commercial quarter in Muttenz took place a few days ago. A quarter with three high-rise buildings and a total of 385 rental apartments is being built on the former Hagnau Ost industrial site. The urban development project will be realized in several stages and focuses on a combination of apartments, offices and retail with a high quality of life and short distances. The district is being developed and realized by HRS, with Swisscanto AST as the investor. The architectural firm Burckhardt Architektur AG and Fontana Landschaftsarchitektur are providing the designs for the buildings and open spaces.

Completion is scheduled for fall 2027 at the earliest. (aw)
