Migros: end for Teo format in Zurich
Migros' automated mini concept has clearly not proven itself in the big city. In other places, however, the concept is still going strong.
Migros Ostschweiz is locating a new branch of its small-format Teo store in Wetzikon (ZH). The cooperative submitted a planning application to the town of Wetzikon at the beginning of March 2025. The unstaffed Teo branch will be located at Hinwilerstrasse 53 and will be open around the clock. Migros currently operates six Teo branches. They offer over 800 items on 50 square meters and are expected to open another location in Kemptthal in 2025.
Meanwhile, two locations of the unattended shopping format in Kloten and Dietlikon will be closed on April 30. This was announced by Migros Zurich. "Experience from the pilot operation has shown that there is not enough potential in our economic area," says Managing Director Patrik Pörtig. (aw)
