Lausanne: Stefano Boeri builds residential tower
Lausanne is to get a "Bosco Verticale". Stefano Boeri's architecture firm has won the competition for a residential tower in Chavanne-Près-Renens. It will be the first green high-rise building in Switzerland.

The Tour des Cèdres will be built from 2017 in the new district of the same name. It will be 117 meters high and will be planted with 24,000 plants, including more than 80 cedars - comparable to the "Bosco Verticale" that Boeri erected in Milan in 2014.
The building application for the CHF 200 million project by developer Bernard Nicod is due to be submitted in 2016. The high-rise building comprises 36 floors and 80 percent of it will be used for apartments; office and service areas, a fitness studio and a panorama restaurant on the roof are also planned. (ah)
