New urban quarter for Emmen
A new urban quarter with 1,800 jobs and 350 apartments is to be built around Seetalplatz in Emmen. When the construction work on the roads and the traffic circle at Seetalplatz is completed at the end of 2018, the area around the traffic junction will be developed in terms of urban planning on four construction sites.
The local council will discuss the development plans at the upcoming council meeting in mid-December. According to the municipality, among other things, the regulations regarding traffic and energy standards have been specified. Thus, the buildings are to be oriented to the guiding criteria of the 2000-watt society. (ah)
