A total of six buildings with rental and owner-occupied apartments are being built on the 10,000-square-meter site. ASGA Pensionskasse Genossenschaft, based in St. Gallen, has acquired four buildings with a total of 63 rental apartments from HRS Real Estate. Two buildings with 18 condominiums remain in the ownership of HRS.

HRS is managing the entire development as a general contractor. The construction period is expected to last until December 2017.

The plans for the "Wohnen am Park" development were drawn up by Burkhalter Sumi Architekten from Zurich. They won the project competition, but fundamentally revised the submission again.

"Wohnen am Park" is part of the comprehensive redevelopment of the Saurer Werk Zwei site. In addition to residential and commercial buildings, a park, a hotel and buildings for cultural activities will also be built on the former industrial wasteland. (ah)
