Citycenter Rapperswil AG and Saweka AG want to redevelop the existing properties on three plots with a total of 8,500 sqm between Neue Jonastrasse and Merkurstrasse. Behind Citycenter Rapperswil are the private investor Walter Villiger and his two sons Fabian and Dominik.

Loeliger Strub Architekten emerged as the winner of the study contract with eight architectural firms. According to the client, their project is a sensitive proposal of high urban planning quality. It defines high spatial qualities, but at the same time allows a lot of flexibility.

In the next step, the project will be further elaborated so that a special use plan for the construction area can be submitted in a year's time. If everything goes well, the Citycenter can be opened in 2020. (ah)
