Three high-rise buildings up to 55 meters high are to be built on the site in the north of Aesch (BL), constructed in stacked construction and with green facades. In addition, two pyramid-shaped buildings are planned, in front of which an artificial lake the size of several soccer fields is to be created. Mixed use is planned for all new buildings: The base is reserved for commercial use, and the upper parts of the buildings will house apartments.

For the site development, the municipality has, according to information from the Basellandschaftliche Zeitung commissioned Fankhauser Immobilienentwicklungen. Life sciences, clean tech, the creative industries, and IT and communications technology were named as the desired sectors for companies to settle in.

The municipal assembly still has to approve the plans for the new quarter, then the study contract for the buildings will be put out to tender and investors will be sought. The municipal council of Aesch has already decided on the site development, and the government of Basel-Landschaft has classified Aesch Nord as a workplace location of cantonal importance. (ah)
