Currently, Densa AG, which manufactures chemical packaging, is located on the property. The company will relocate to a new building in Eiken in spring 2017, after which the land will be put to new use in a central location. FR Immobilien AG, as the owner of the site, wants to realize a superstructure there, writes the Südkurier.

According to the newspaper report, 155 rental apartments in the medium price segment and 2,900 square meters of office and service space are planned. One building will contain mainly apartments and individual services such as Spitex and a crèche. The second building is to comprise offices and apartments only on the attic floor. The project also includes an underground garage with 204 parking spaces.

The investment volume is estimated at over CHF 50 million. Construction could take place in the fall of 2017, so that the apartments and offices will be ready for occupancy in the spring or summer of 2019. The site of the former veneer factory is the last large industrial area in downtown Rheinfelden. (ah)
