Baden: Residential project on Brisgi site
The Baden Housing Foundation's project competition for the Brisgi site has been decided: The jury has selected the project of the team Müller Sigrist from Zurich and Meier Leder Architekten from Baden for realization.

At 6.5 hectares, the Brisgi site is one of the last large reserves of building land in Baden. It is now to be developed with the "Kandalama" project by Meier Leder Architekten from Baden together with the Müller Sigrist team.
The competition called for concepts that appeal to a wide range of tenants and make different forms of living possible. Smaller residential units for singles and pensioners as well as special offers for shared apartments should complement the focus on "family living with children" in a needs-based and tenant-friendly manner.
The buildings of the selected "Kandalama" project divide the slope from Brisgistrasse to the level of the river area into three stages. According to the jury's report, this creates a spatial link between the Kappelerquartier and the river level. Meeting zones and recreational areas will be created between the buildings.
The client, Wohnbaustiftung Baden, which was founded in 2012, promotes housing construction and thus the supply of affordable apartments in accordance with the housing strategy adopted by the city of Baden in 2010. The housing foundation has equity capital of CHF 10 million. The residential development on the Brisgi site is the first project of the Baden Housing Foundation, with more to follow.
Construction on the Brisgi site is not expected to start until 2020 at the earliest. (ah)
