Uzwil: Uze plans housing estate with 300 apartments
Uze AG wants to build a development with 300 apartments in Uzwil. The plans have now been presented to the public.

With the "Wieseon" project, Uze AG plans to build around 300 apartments on the Grossacker in Niederuzwil. The project drawn up by Harder Spreyermann Architekten was presented to the public on June 13, 2017. The design plan will now be published.
The project is being built on what is currently the largest contiguous reserve of building land in the municipality of Uzwil. Tobias Wagner, Head of Real Estate at Uze AG, emphasized that the aim is not to build as many apartments as possible on the 36,000 m² site, but to create an attractive residential area. The aim is to preserve the rural character of Uzwil while at the same time complying with spatial planning parameters such as high-density construction.
The 300 residential units are arranged in such a way that a large park is created in the middle of the residential buildings. Uze wants to appeal to different groups of people with rental apartments of different sizes. A café and small commercial premises are also planned in the residential development to provide local amenities. Further shopping, sports and leisure facilities can be found in the nearby village center.
