Baloise Bank SoBa launches mortgage app

Baloise Bank SoBa is launching a mortgage app on the market. Apartment owners can use the app to pay off their mortgage largely independently.

Baloise Bank SoBa has developed what it claims is Switzerland's first mortgage app together with Axon Ivy, a company specializing in the digitization of business processes, and the real estate valuation company IAZI. "The app is another step towards customer-oriented digitalization," says Jürg Ritz, CEO of Baloise Bank SoBa.

The app offers users a new mortgage interest rate without registration and after only six questions, which is then secured for a week. The customer assesses the condition of the home himself: He selects suitable photos for the kitchen, bathroom and facade based on reference images.

The documents required for the redemption application are photographed with the cell phone camera and sent directly to the bank. Other functions such as localization or reminders via push messages are also integrated into the app.

Credit decision is made automatically

Once all the data has been entered, the credit decision is made automatically in the app. Customers receive the contract by mail a few days later. Customers who take out a mobile mortgage also receive a free valuation of their property from IAZI.

Mortgage newcomers would appreciate advice from the expert at the bank, but mortgage redeemers benefit from maximum flexibility with the new app, Ritz is convinced: "They save themselves a trip to the bank and answer the questions whenever they have time: while commuting, in the waiting room or in the evening from the sofa." Replacing the mortgage should be as time-saving and simple as possible for the customer, he says.

The Baloise Hypo app is initially available in German, with a French version to follow in spring 2018. It is available for the Android and iOS operating systems.
