According to the survey conducted by Intervista on behalf of ImmoScout24, 14% of the Swiss want to move into a rented property in the next three months or are looking for one. Most will not be dissuaded from this plan because of the corona pandemic. Only one in five say they will postpone plans to move. Of these, however, 42% can imagine moving by the end of the year, ImmoScout24 writes in a statement.

The most important reason cited for the corona-related postponement is uncertainty about the professional future. Also a changed financial starting position causes the asked ones to still wait, so ImmoScout24 further. Other reasons are that the apartment seekers wanted to avoid contact with other people or had too little time for planning and moving.

Meanwhile, 10% of respondents said they have been looking for a new home only since the outbreak of the pandemic. According to ImmoScout24, the number of page visits to the platform in recent weeks and months has never been higher. Alone in June one registered over 8 million side calls, which are approximately 62% more than in the previous year. It is clear that the priorities of searchers have changed. Since the lockdown, the proportion of searches for apartments with a balcony, terrace or seating area has risen by around 30%. (ah)
