Winterthur: Test planning for Campo site begins
The SKKG Group is inviting tenders for the test planning of the Campo site in Winterthur-Neuhegi. Starting in September 2021, three teams will explore options for transforming the current production site.

According to the Foundation for Art, Culture and History (SKKG), its future group headquarters are to be built in the Neuhegi district of Winterthur - and also "a vibrant part of the city". At the new group headquarters, all employees from all areas of activity, both from culture and real estate, will work under one roof.
In addition to the rooms needed for their own use, a significant proportion of the space will be available for other tenants, such as research institutions and/or small businesses. Furthermore, apartments are planned as well as meeting places for people in the neighbourhood - such as a restaurant, says Bettina Stefanini, President of the Foundation Board of the SKKG.
A concrete plan for the redevelopment of the site is not yet available, but three selected teams of planners are to explore the possibilities in a so-called test planning by spring 2022. Subsequently, concrete development ideas are to be worked out in an architectural competition. The earliest possible move-in date for the SKKG Group and future tenants is envisaged as 2026/2027. (bw)
