Swiss Life Fund invests in Denmark
The open-ended real estate fund Swiss Life REF (DE) European Living has acquired a residential development consisting of seven buildings in Aarhus. This is the fund's second investment in Denmark.

According to Swiss Life Asset Managers, the property was built in 2017, has an A+ energy label and a total leasable area of 8,960 sqm, divided into 84 apartments. The individual apartments range in size from 85 sqm to 133 sqm. The property is located in the Risskov district, a suburban area of Aarhus, a short distance from the beach and a forest. Surrounding the property is the newly developed residential area of Risskov Brynet. In addition to many green areas, there are also shopping facilities for daily needs in the neighborhood. Aarhus is the second largest city in Denmark and has seen a population growth of just over 15% or 46,000 people since 2010. The city is home to the country's largest university with 33,000 students.
The acquisition of the residential development is the second investment after entering the market in August last year as part of an asset deal. At that time, the fund had acquired residential properties in the Copenhagen area. The property in Aarhus was sold by AP Ejendomme and the transfer of ownership took place at the beginning of January 2022. Swiss Life Asset Managers Germany has taken over the asset management of the properties.
With Swiss Life (REF) European Living, Swiss Life Asset Managers has launched an open-ended mutual fund for private investors in Germany in 2019 that invests in residential real estate in Europe. (ah)
