Lidl invests 30 million in store network
Lidl Switzerland has announced plans to invest CHF 30 million in remodeling its 102 stores in Switzerland. A higher-quality concept is to be introduced throughout the country. The aim is to better adapt to the needs of consumers, Lidl says.
The new store concept is designed to provide easier orientation. The existing checkouts will be replaced by new models with so-called tracking belts, which will give customers more time to pack their groceries. The signage will be standardized. Lidl plans to place fruit, vegetables, bread and flowers in the entrance area in the future. Freezers will be moved up the wall. The remodeling of the stores is to be completed in 2016. (ah)
