Alexander Otto steps down as ICSC board member

Josip Kardun, CEO of Atrium Group, will be the new Chairman of the ICSC European Advisory Board. This was announced by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) at Expo Real in Munich. Kardun succeeds Alexander Otto, CEO of ECE Projektmanagement, who headed the industry association for the last three years.

Josip Kardun has been a member of the ICSC European Advisory Board since 2008 and Vice-Chair since January 2015. He has also been a member of the Executive Committee since 2011 and was Chair of the ICSC European Next Generation Advisory Group from 2008 to 2013.

Kardun joined Atrium Group in February 2014 and was appointed CEO in December 2014. He joined Atrium Group from ECE, where he held various management positions, including Chief Investment Officer and Head of Mergers & Acquisitions and Transaction Management. Before joining ECE, Kardun was General Manager of Sierra Management Germany GmbH, a subsidiary of Sonae Sierra, an international developer and operator of shopping centers.

Under the chairmanship of Alexander Otto, the ICSC has increased its membership from about 2,000 to 7,000 today. (ah)
