Gümligenfeld: Implenia can build multiplex cinema
The objectors have given up their opposition to the multiplex cinema and leisure center planned for Gümligenfeld in Muri. Nothing now stands in the way of the start of construction for Implenia's project.
How the Bernese newspaper with reference to the building administration, the objections against the project have been withdrawn and the building permit has been granted. This means that a leisure center - consisting of a Kitag large-scale cinema with ten screens, a bowling alley, a billiard center, two restaurants and offices - can be built on the Gümligenfeld site. The furniture retailer Jysk will also be represented at the site.
Although the developer Implenia had already received the building permit some time ago, it was designed for a different use with exclusively retail stores and offices. In July of last year, opposition was voiced against the change of concept to more leisure facilities. The objectors feared more traffic and doubted the project's conformity with zoning regulations.
Implenia is committed to Bernese newspaperThe company has been asked to push for a quarter-hourly service on the Gümligenfeld bus route in the evenings. If it is unsuccessful, it must ensure the same timetable density with its own shuttle bus.
Implenia expects the new building to be ready in November 2017. (ah)
