KFC plans market entry in Switzerland
According to media reports, the US fast food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) is planning to enter the Swiss market in the next two years. Currently, KFC is said to be looking for locations and franchise partners, for example in Zurich, Basel, Geneva, Lausanne, Bern, Lucerne and Winterthur.
The company itself is not disclosing anything about its expansion plans. For example, it is not yet known how many KFC stores there will be in Switzerland. The company had already tried to gain a foothold in Switzerland in 2004, but closed the stores again in the meantime.
KFC says it is the world's most popular restaurant chain specializing in chicken dishes, with more than 19,400 restaurants in 120 countries worldwide. KFC has been present in neighboring Germany since 1968. (ah)
