Lucerne: SBB opens modernized station

SBB has completed the modernization of Lucerne station. A new food corner and a Migros store recently opened. In total, SBB invested around CHF 12.6 million in the station.

The new food corner in the basement includes the stores "Little Istanbul", "Dean & David", "Holy-Cow" and "Bobby & Fritz". The restaurant "Titbits" opened on the second floor last fall.

Retail chains Calida, Rituals, The Body Shop, Mobilezone, Joe and The Juice and H&M have also recently opened stores. H&M has opened the world's first store in a train station in Lucerne, according to SBB.

With the completion of the renovation work, there are now 46 stores in the station. According to media reports, Lucerne's train station already generates sales of CHF 120 million annually. (ah)
